The Model's Story

Mamluk carpets first appeared in the 15th century during the Mamluk Sultanate in Cairo, bringing the geometric elegance of Islamic art to carpet weaving. The symmetrical patterns, composed of stars, octagons, and squares, symbolize order and mystical balance within the universe. The turquoise green, navy blue, red, and gold tones used in this particular carpet are inspired by nature, the sky, and palace decorations.
